Where It All Began
When your thought “travels” and eventually ends up on the island of Sifnos, it is impossible not to “stop” at Mr. Nikos Frazescaros. One of the most active residents of the island, who through his business spirit has managed to do great things for himself and his island.Mr. Nikos, born and raised on the island of Sifnos until his adolescence, is the second child of a large family. Being an anxious spirit and wanting to get his life in his own hands, he left at the age of fifteen for the island of Syros, where he studied to be an electrician. As another “corsair”, unwilling to accept that he would be a conventional electrician, he left to become a sailor at the age of twenty-two years, scouring the seas of the world.However, the beginning of his most successful journey begins in 1983, when he decides to return to his island. There, wanting to start something of his own, something that would be a creation of his own thought, he decides to establish his own “paradise” on the beach. A paradise of tastes, where the visitor who came from the sea and landed at Vathi in Sifnos could taste the Greek traditional cuisine. And all this, under the beautiful sun and the gorgeous Aegean sea, taking only one step on the sandy beach.
About Us
As the initiator of this venture, but with little cooking knowledge, Mr. Nikos had his mother as well as his very good friend Nikiforos by his side. With his mother, a wonderful woman who “enchants” with her culinary skills and with Nikiforos who is probably one of the best cooks of his time, Mr. Nikos begins his own journey in time having already made thirty-six years of history with his own TSIKALI.
For many years now, Mr. Nikos with his wife and their two children have developed their business activities in other fields as well, creating “TSIKALI STUDIOS” in 2003, which were built in Artemonas of Sifnos, in traditional Cycladic style. In 2014, the “CHEESE DAIRY” was also established, giving the chance to the Tsikali’s family to use their own milk in their tasteful businesses.
